A lot of lawyers out there might be dumb, but they're not stupid. He's here to get himself and his clients paid, and leave enough breadcrumbs for somebody else to handle a criminal case. Realistically speaking, because of his reputation and relationships, he's probably a liability to a prosecution team. But he's definitely giving anyone else interested enough to at least consider it, especially with him implying he was arranging visits across state lines.

Simply put though, he's fukked. Because the reality is that even if this is mostly a setup, and 21 of them are proven to be wrong, or just misunderstanding what the situation was or whatever, all it takes is one of them to be plausibly believable to blow his career up. I really don't like those odds.
