He is leaner. Less muscle, you can see it in his chest, shoulders and arms which used to be buff, no homo.
Muscle weighs more than fat. He weighs less now and that allows him to put less stress on his joints (knees and ankles). Imagine playing basketball with a 15 pound weight vest. And then, play without the 15 lbs. weight vest. He's trading in muscle mass for being lighter.
