Almost everything in the bible is misinterpreted. Everything written in there was meant to be taken contextually for the time in which it was written. not 2024.
Most things obviously stand the test of time,,. don't murder, steal etc. But others lack present day relevance.
Nobody is going to get stoned to death for working on the sabbath for example. An anybody trying to act that out in 2024 would just be seen as a psycho and jailed.
Of course back in the day, you didn't have labor laws protecting people from being overworked or worked to death.

Psalms talks about musical instruments. timbrel, lyre, harp, trumpets, cymbals, shofar, lute......
You don't have to look far to find them.
I agree. The Church of Christ folk say that was the Old Testament so it doesn't count.
They also say the playing of the harp in Revelation is in heaven so it doesn't count...

Yeah a lot of these denominations are really cult like.....bad interpretations.
But that's why people should read the Bible for themselves.
I'm not saying the COC is terrible, but all denominations have some problems and bad interpretations.
Non denominational can be just as bad or worse.
Just have to understand it for yourself.
