the movie business just works differently. back in the day, studios promoted their movies around the lead and that build up the actors star power. today, studios promote franchises, so what becomes big is the name of the franchise, not the name of the actors involved. movies that don't belong to a franchise don't get the same budgets and that is why they flop. It has nothing to do with the actors involved or this generation of actors not being able to carry a movie. They can't carry a movie because the promotion of movies isn't build around them carrying it.

That era is over though. Today with social media, there's no "allure" around big name stars. You just have to kill every role to get that status. The only people who still look at celebrities like that are teenagers and people who are mentally teenagers.

I'm so glad was was able to experience da last era of legit GOAT "Movie Stars".

Growin up on entertainment in da 90s>>>>>>>>>>
Just about everything was better except "adult" television (i.e. the wire, sopranos, etc.). Part of me appreciates the transparency though, I generally think celebrity culture is toxic.

I know err generation claims thiers was da best but I truly believe growin up (I'm talkin bout being old enuff to experience shyt) durin da 90s-2000ish was da GOAT.

As coo as it is to get all dis instant behind da scenes, on location footage, and direct access to da actors &production instantly now...dere was just somethin special bout dat mysterious factor of "Yooo, how'd dey do dat?! :ohhh: :krs:" film, television, etc. had at dat time.

Now it's like "Meh, green screen..:coffee:"

Dunno if it's just a case of nostalgia or being burnt out on da grip social media has on err thang nowadays. But I find mahself missin dat shyt more often.:ld:
