Also, LOL @ nikkas actually thinking he was even 1% a good guy in that flick, dude had not values or morals
He did nothing redeemable in this film to wven give him a shadow of doubt
:whoa:He flat out said in the movie multiple times that he used to be just like Hoyt, he was once a good cop until he saw the corruption in the department and evil in the world and tried to fight fire wit fire becomin more and more twisted by it further goin down that dark path. And he showed morals and redeemable qualities at certain points like when he damn near killed those crackheads for tryna rape that underage girl and talked about how pissed off he was havin to watch Roger sell dope to kids for over 10 years.

Son beat a Russian mobster to death and killed a drug dealer in cold blood. But he's not a villain :heh:
or murdering a drug dealer to pay off your debt

:myman:
Russian mobsters and drug dealers are villains themselves:manny:"heroes" kill bad guys in movies all the time.

Alonzo being murdered was kinda forced though. The way the Russians easily found him while driving in the street is hard to do in LA.
I agree with this. I don't know how they found him so quick..... Kind of lame
If you killed a made man in any branch of the Mafia and they gave your ass 24 hrs to live and pay up, you won't be that hard to find anywhere (technology is a muthafukka ain't it) ... Alonzo was a dead man walkin even if he had the money so that time line was just to fukk with him
Unbeknownst (did I spell that right?) to us and Alonzo....... they had eyes on him the entire day and were waiting to see if he'd pay or if they had to go through with the hit.
You really think russian mafia with military connections and police intel CANT track you, if they wanted you dead??? :heh: They probably tailed him when he left the jungle, you remember the girl that pulled up next to him at the stoplight, that was the decoy/ spotter....
Them esse said the Russians had a crew on standby waitin to act if he didn't come up wit their money, they were followin him the whole time and rolled up on him right after he lost the money.

I can't imagine an ending where we walked away. Not with Jake taking the money. If Jake left him the money then sure, I could buy it.

Why do white ppl exaggerate the conclusion to Vic mackie's story? :why: "He's an adrenaline junkie so being made to sit at the desk is a sentence worse than death" "his desk has become his prison" "when we leave him at the office (in the last shot) that's his own personal hell" on what fukin planet? :what: it's like that's the bullshyt fans of the show need to believe just so he seems like this big tragic figure in tv history.

Fact is he wasn't he was scum and got away with just about every deplorable thing he did. Take solace in the fact that Shawn ryan was too much of a chicken shyt and essentially had the main character skate for 7 seasons worth of crimes

I see both sides of it. I don't wanna cop pleas for Shawn Ryan.

At the time I genuinely loved the shield ending. It's actually still one of my favorite tv show endings. Spoilers ahead obviously.

Even though he didn't kill Mackey, and the whole "office life and no family thing is hell for a guy like that" I can halfway buy into at, at least. The acting is so good that he sold the final performance so well, that I didn't care. And plus the way he grabbed the gun and walked back out right into the streets where he belonged was dope. Even if on paper it's kind of a cop out, I think the acting and direction sold the final scene really well.

The problem is that it's really hard to end tv shows, and there are very few satisfying endings. I thought that one delivered. I think everyone was expecting Mackey to get killed off, so maybe Shawn Ryan didn't want to do what everyone expected?

I don't know. I thought The Sopranos ending and the Dexter ending were way worse in terms of copping out and letting the characters off the hook. Don't get it confused there either. The Sopranos ending is 10x better and the Dexter ending is complete trash. I also don't think The Sopranos ending is really open to interpretation, but since everyone thinks it is, I'll play along.

i forget who but one of the characters says nobody thought alonzo would be able to get that type of money to save his life. the million dollars was just symbolic meaning he was going to die

watched this again for the first time in like 10 years

I thought the death fit the story but it could've gone either way and probably worked
