he's physique and movements remind me of curry. I know he can't shoot. sorry for confusion
I think you have Curry mixed up with Rondo. Nothing about Schroder reminds me of Curry.
He does cut off his screens like Curry and his handles are uber advanced like Curry's which makes him hell to guard in PnR's. He is much quicker than Steph tho but Steph can do A LOT more than Dennis with the rock.
That's the thing I agree with him on. He is still a lot more like Rondo than Curry tho.
Rondo only because of his body, he's really long just like Rondo. Difference is Rondo's way smarter/better passer but Schroder actually has a half decent jumpshot. You can definitely see the talent and potential that he has and if he works on his game an improves his jumper he will be a star. I can see the Rondo comparison but I also think he compares somewhat to Tony Parker too. Drafted as a teenager has, is fast as lightning, but just needs to be taught the game and learn when to slow down and when to take it into the next gear.
I've agreed with the "German Rondo" comparison that scouts have given him since entering the scene, and it's hard not to disagree with them seeing his style of play in the Summer League. I love that he's just 19 years old and we can really coach him up to be whatever type of PG we want him to be. Like others have said in this thread, he can develop into a Rondo with a jumpshot or a Tony Parker with a longer body. I love the potential there because he really has all the tools to make it. And with a coach like Bud who's worked with Tony Parker before, I think he's got a good shot at becoming a superstar in this league.
I wonder how butt hurt Teague will be in a year or two when he's asked to come off the bench for him though. He'll ask for a trade, I'm sure.
