They’ve rejected the very fundamentals they said make them legitimate

Financial and judicial conflicts of interest. And like I said, every other federal judge has to abide by a code of conduct whereas the SC justices do not. Which allows the previously mentioned to happen in the 1st place.
The fact that @DEAD7 keeps acting like the Court is fine even after this most recent SCOTUS term tells you that conservatives don't care about this. We have multiple justices who lied during their confirmation hearings, ignored decades of precedent to gleefully curb individual and environmental protections, and have made it clear that they're not done, but the right is getting the fundamentalist decisions that they've wanted for years so they don't have a problem with any of that. Legal precedent be damned as long as they have a 6-3 advantage.

Like I said a while back:
It’s pure fantasy to believe the Supreme Court isn’t just as political as the other branches. It always has been, and I’d say it’s even less Democratic than the Senate. It’s also gotten plenty of things wrong throughout its history so it’s not some infallible entity above reform.

Conservatives are only acting so indignant because it looks the way they want it to look after years of breaking every rule and norm they could, something they conveniently leave out of the conversation.

It should just be a law that the Supreme Court is balanced between liberal & conservative.

It's should be a given that the supreme court should be NON political to be fair as possible in a fractured political govt... that's what's the supreme court should be...:beli:
