At least Bams asked for congressional support, I don't seem to remember the last administration doing that

Am I happy bout this shyt? Naw. But if congress votes no it could give Obama the out he seems to want. But I think it's clear that if Assad using chemical weapons again the administration won't request a vote, they'll just start bombing.

Then your a biased and ignorant individual:ufdup:

The Iraq Resolution or the Iraq War Resolution (formally the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002,[1] Pub.L. 107–243, 116 Stat. 1498, enacted October 16, 2002, H.J.Res. 114) is a joint resolution passed by the United States Congress in October 2002 as Public Law No: 107-243, authorizing military action against Iraq.

They'd also like to ignore Operation Infinite Reach

no congressional approval

The Al-Shifa factory was Sudan's primary source of pharmaceuticals, covering the majority of the Sudanese market. Werner Daum (Germany's ambassador to Sudan 1996–2000) wrote an article in which he estimated that the attack "probably led to tens of thousands of deaths" of Sudanese civilians

I think if we followed the constitution we'd be a lot better off. Democrips and Rebloodlicans been shytting on it.

The truth is America is no different from any big empire of the past. Instead of "imperialism" we have "intervention." We use money and underhanded tactics to conquer countries covertly. They just changed the terms, and the tactics. Everybody eats it up.

The Iraq War Resolution was not a blank check to attack Iraq. In fact the legal framework for the war largely based on United Nations Security Council resolutions that were not passed. UN inspectors were on the ground searching for evidence of WMDs, which were to be the legal basis for the war (a "continuing threat" from Iraq). They didn't have time to find shyt because the Joint Chiefs informed Bush we had to attack by spring to make the most impact.

So yes, the senate/house did vote...but they voted on a faulty batch of lies that was rejected by the UN.

Which is why republicans and democrats are upset about Obama's apparent resolution, which is VERY open ended (like the Iraq one).
