This is definitely a problem in the podcast/youtube sphere.
The Right votes non-stop.
The Left can't be left enough without shytting all over the "left" party. And then they are pikachu face when the left continually loses. Sure it is morally correct that you call it balls and strikes. It's great that you are so above the fray that you know the Republicans are trash, but you still have to make sure that you don't give the Democrats a pass. But, then you do that forever, and at the last minute are like but hey vote for the Democrats. Then you're like what the hell how did the Democrats miss this layup.
Look at Channels like Breaking Points. They are the epitome of how the Left and the Right totally care about populism. Screw the culture wars, screw the left and the right. Just talk policy and everyone agrees. But, then you watch that show consistently. Saagar doesn't shyt on the Right, excuses Trump, Vance, etc. Krystal shyts on Trump, Vance, etc. But, she makes a serious point to also shyt on the Dems. So then you get an audience that leans right, because the only thing they really agree on is hating the left. How does that win? How does that further the Progressive ideals?
Majority Report does a better job of balancing the left/Democrats than most of the Channels. But, they still go out of their way to be like the Republicans suck, but we still have to talk about how the Democrats suck, but please vote for them. And then their audience doesn't vote for them. Sam killed Jimmy Dore on the Supreme Court balance of why voting for Hillary would have been better than Trump. But, his channel made it clear that Hillary isn't as pure as Bernie, and she's not really "left is best" so they (the fan base) didn't vote for her. Just like Dore's audience. Because that is what the Left channels are good at. They are good at telling you how the Liberal party isn't perfect, and you know the Conservative party is trash. But, none of them do a good job of convincing you to vote liberal after all their grievances.
And at the end of the day. No matter how populist the Country polls. The voting public isn't liberal, they aren't left, they like left policies in theory. But, they don't care about them enough to vote for the party that will bring those policies. I don't know how you fix this break.
The Right and it's media apparatus will never turn on the right. Just like the Dems in Congress want to try and rely on past bipartisanship and how the Government used to act. Left leaning media has this concept in their head, that they can't be their best if they don't criticize the side/party that is most favorable to them. And all it breeds is apathy. People want Jon Stewart to run, and he's out here bothsidesing when it's clear ONE party is exponentially worst.
