Be better on big ideas.

Trumps proposals for no income tax no tax on tips etc. was a proposal to help working base voters rally around

Make progressive policies sound nationalist/patriotic.

Have progressive policy ideas that resonate with America’s individualistic traits. Americans always think me first, next person second.

“A Better America for YOU!”

I’d also start explicitly saying we are going after the tax money of Musk, Thiel, Bezos, etc and turn them into the enemy. A grander version of

Also understand that winning cable news means nothing. Gotta win social media and what’s after that.
Most media are owned by conservatives and that's a big issue. WaPo and LA Times couldn't even endrose Harris.

For social media, Youtube, Twitter and Facebook are lost causes. Reddit users are pretty progressive overall but the Reddit owner is a Musk stan. Tiktok is pretty progressive but is foreign.

Unless some benevolent billionnaire bank roll a left leaning social media, winning the media landscape is impossible. :sadcam:

Democrats are gonna look at this and think they need to move to the right, but that's obviously not working. You can't out-Republican the Republicans, especially if you're trotting out people who are persona non grata with their own party like the Cheneys.

Also, can we finally ditch those a$$holes at the Lincoln Project? They were completely useless in both 2020 and 2024. :pacspit:

If this race ends up being a point/point and a half win for Trump, the Dems have to understand it's not the platform....it's the messaging and delivery.

If things shake out the way it looks like it is, Repubs win WH and Senate, lose the House. Dems lose two Senate seats and WH, but gain House....that's not the red wave that the media is portraying.

Dems definitely need to keep the core of the left policies above all those that are popular (universal healthcare, higher minimum wage, rent control, debt/loan forgiveness, access to abortion, fighting climate change and so on...)

However I think there are some issues where they will need to be more incremental. Not saying they'll need to go right but they'll need to do smaller steps to their goals on those ones.

I think gun control is a good example where Dems changed their messaging across the years to be more inline with the electorate. It's not about banning guns any more and more about reducing gun violence.

Have to move back to the party of labor. Bush all that fringe social issue shyt. Get tough on ILLEGAL immigration and stop acting like tens of millions getting paid under the table is great for the working class people they compete with. Either give all these people green cards or stop turning a blind eye.

And finally, financial reform. Wall Street is out of
control. They're running scams in top of scams and sucking money out of our economy. Tax the uber rich. I wouldnt even allow billonaires to exist.

It’s time to fact the facts. The Democratic Party is finished. Abortion won in almost all of the states Kamala lost. They would rather the Republicans win than for the ruling class to lose the ability to accumulate capital through foreign wars and intervention, corruption, and the destruction of the climate. They’ve completely alienated their voter base

We all have to get involved on the ground level. Do yall know why Dems go all out on social issues? Because the people who are most passionate about it work in field offices, get promoted, and help establish agendas that are pushed. I have no hate towards LGTBQ people but theyre like >5% of the population but they're over represented on the ground level. Why? Because they know they're low hanging fruit and one of the first groups to be targeted. If we want to bring real, everyday men back to the party then real, everyday men will have to be involved laying the foundation

I think the party probably needs to find out (again?) what its base actually is, and what those voters actually want. It plays to too broad a church at the moment, possibly because it feels that it should or needs to, but the policies and politicians who play well to the centre will, I would imagine, alienate those much further to the left. The same is opposite in reverse.

It feels as if the party does more damage to itself than the GOP, and this surely will only get worse if the party tries a ’business as usual’ approach after results like this.

It’s a shytshow of a night, and tough questions & hard decisions should follow.

Has to be a left-wing, slightly socially-conservative populist parallel to Trump.

Get these suit-and-tie establishment Dems the fukk outta here.

FOR GOOD.
