Through his words and actions he proved himself to be an anti-Arab racist who views Israeli lives as worth more than Palestinian lives. Many people - both inside and outside of his Administration - warned him about the potential electoral damage he was doing to his campaign by pursuing his rabid Zionist agenda, but he stayed the course. So no, I don't need to believe in some fictitious alternative reality where he was desperate to reign in the Israeli government but private citizen Donald Trump stopped him from doing so. Trump didn't make him go out there and refuse to criticize the Israeli government or not pursue restrictions on the arms he was selling them.

Not sure why you’re downplaying Trump as a “private citizen” he was the opposition leader, the de facto speaker of the house, senate majority leader and the king maker of the Republican Party. I’m also not sure why you think an alliance between Trump and Bibi wouldn’t be more politically powerful than Biden when it comes to ceasefire negotiations in Israel.

The Israeli lobby in congress would have overridden any type of veto Biden could have done blocking aid or arms sales just like Trump was forced to sanction Russia and sale arms to Ukraine due to congress in his first term.


The only difference is that if Biden overtly rejected sending aid to Israel and congress overruled it, he would look like a feckless traitor to an ally that just suffered a terrorist attack.
