The fact that AD co-signed him coming is huge. Me thinking AD didn't want to play with him was the biggest reason I didn't think the Lakers would do this.
But they needed defense at that position a lot more than they needed offense. Will he play hard on the defensive end of the court? Will he get his three back enough to consistently spread the floor? If he can hit threes and be even a league-average defender, he's a great addition. If he can fully recover from injury and play above-average on both ends then the Lakers could be title contenders.
PG: Rondo/Cook/Caruso
SG: Green/KCP/Daniels
SF: LeBron/Kuzma
PF: AD/Dudley
Center: Cousins/McGee/Chandler
Rondo might play well enough to hold his spot, but I can easily see them going to a crunch-time lineup that puts LeBron at the point with any two of Green, KCP, and Kuzma as the other wings, or even having all three on the court and kicking AD down to the 5.
Interesting to see if Norvell or Horton-Tucker can come in and have any impact.
