No doubt they tried to find a way to get rid of her. Folk may not care but we will all get to that point where we are near or over retirement age and your company wants you gone. You don't even have to be old, they can just want to get rid of you but not have any reason yet....they just sit back and wait and when they see an opportunity they do it.

Until I see proof that she can no longer do her job specified duties, she should be able to work as long as she is competent at her job. If that were the case I'm sure Delta would have no problem releasing the details into what parts of her job she sucks at so they can jusitfy their decision to let her go to the general public.

TLDR: The same way that I'm sure you wouldn't want anyone to put a limit upon your life and your capabilities, is it too much to ask reciprocity and not act like we're some omnipotent beings who have some right to predict the actions and govern the lives of others, especially people we don't know personally?

And then they don't want to invest ish in the younger workers they're trying to hustle. Old ppl get the boot after 30+ yrs of top notch service(becuase let's be real, they wouldn't have survived 30+ yrs being crappy employees) and the new employees get over worked and paid less.
