Because there’s thousands of white or middle easterners doing this craft and Too few (although growing) blacks. Particularly using real gold. So it’s part of the story and if you’re not marketing that (your prerogative) then you’re missing a larger opportunity.

Furthermore - part of the piece is the maker of the piece - not just the material and design.

So my preference is to know the jewelers story as well.
