Optimism or trolling either way Seahawks will probably get more than 3 points in second half.
you might want to check the Patriots' 2nd half stats for the last 8 games (including 2 shutouts and holding a rodgers offense in lambeau to 3 points) :camby:

CLIFFS: patriots are putting on the clamps versus much more lethal passers than Carlton Banks.

VMR's Lowkey Keys To The Game:

  • Patriots must break tackles- The Seahawks have been very good the past few years at fundamentally tackling and bringing guys down. If the Patriots RBs, WRs and TE's can break tackles and get even just an extra 3-5 yards that they otherwise wouldn't, it could end up making a huge difference in field position, staying out of 3rd and long situations and perhaps making the difference between a punt and a FG or a punt and a first down leading to a touchdown.
  • Seahawks must avoid frivolous penalties- The Seahawks have been one of the most penalized teams the last couple years..making them a bit of a historical anomaly in terms of being so successful in spite of this. In this game however, the Seahawks cannot give the Patriots extra chances to score.
  • Brandon Browner- He's going to be playing with a lot of emotion against his former team...he needs to make sure he avoids being too over enthusiastic causing penalties, over pursuing a read option at CB and leaving his responsibility in coverage resulting in a big gain on a Wilson floater pass or pass down the field because his WR slid behind him and Russ didnt go over the line of scrimmage and, lastly, being lazy on footwork at the point of attack trying to be too physical in bump n run coverage leading him to get beat deep.
  • Patriots need to get a good return or two out of special teams- Likely to be Edelman or perhaps Amendola..getting a 15+ yard gain off a punt return would be huge for their offense.
  • Protecting the Pocket- Seahawks will often rush just 3 or 4 on passing situations..the Patriots need to make sure that Brady can stay comfortable in the pocket and his WR's gain early separation. I think the Seahawks will try to collapse the pocket early and force Brady outside, perhaps to Sherman's side to see how accurate and effective he can be out of his comfort zone.
  • Punting- Field position in this game, as most games, is crucial. The punt game is sometimes overlooked in this. The Seahawks use this often to their advantage due to Ryan's typically big and consistent leg. They don't mind being conservative often and targeting their own 35 or 40 yard line on early drives because they have confidence in Ryan pinning the other team deep in their own territory. A muffed punt or shanked punt could be the difference in a decisive score.
  • Luke Willson- He's faster than most TE's and has emerged lately as a deep threat. He's not near the player that Gronk is in pretty much all aspects of the game...but, like Gronk, his biggest plays come up the seam..surprising teams with his breakaway speed. If the safety creeps in too far on a play action or read play and Willson gets separation then there could be big gains to be had.
  • Don't get tricked- Both teams and coaches have the propensity to pull some unconventional plays out of the playbook that they may have not even used during the season. In the playoffs, the Edelman pass td and the Seahawks fake field goal pass were huge in their respective games. Both defenses must have a heightened awareness to the possibility of these plays.
  • Kevin Williams- Has filled in admirably for Mebane..but he is older and if/when the Pats go no huddle..he's going to need to be able to maintain his level of play and not get pushed off the spot. He's going to be crucial in slowing down Blount.

pats going to do what seyton manning couldn't do.

blunt is going to get 150+ yards 3 scores and might win mvp

seattle won't score more than 17

Patriots will have lazer focus as they're playing for their legacy and deflategate.

Seattle is overconfident , injured, and content.

I am a bit concerned that they have gotten too comfortable but I cant say for sure. I dont know if its overconfidence or just a slight lack of edge compared to last year's SB because its their second time around or if Im just wrong.

Pats have never scored that much in a SB though..and they have never faced a defense as good as this in a SB. Could easily be wrong because its hard to accurately predict the Patriots but Id be shocked if they put up more than 25, at the most.

Is Brady's arm strong enough to make a Hail Mary pass if it came down to it AGAIN at the end of the game :lupe: his deep ball is really the only noticeable decline that he's had over the past few years

his arm strength is the exact reason he will lose, he will throw 2-3 picks, statue QB's like Peyton and Brady struggle against great athletes at the DB position because the windows are tighter and close quicker, Rodgers was the only threat

Arm strength to put the ball in tight windows is totally different than throwing an accurate deep ball which is what the posters were referring to...I don't think anyone questions Brady's arm strength ability to put the ball in tight windows...

I'm not talking about the deep ball

He can put the ball in tight windows, but when your playing fast freakish DB's the windows become smaller, and tighter, and that's why brady will struggle

only a QB with a big arm like rogders could beat a defense like this in the SB

only way seahawks losing is if Wilson fukks up again

yet he has played them twice this year and couldn't do anything and had pedestrian numbers....
those DB's are only going to be as good as that front four allows them to be...if they are not getting pressure( especially up the middle) Brady/Pats will be fine especially with all that underneath stuff they like to run....

Everybody does pedestrian numbers against them, we're not talking about numbers championship football comes down to plays

rogers made plays against the seahawks, yet still struggled, brady is going to struggle immensely, he doesn't have the arm Rodgers has to challenge does dbs

they front four barely got to Rodgers and they had guys covered, like Is aid Brady will throw to an open receiver and by the time the ball gets the receiver will not be open anymore, that's the defense when your playing fast dbs
