Wasn't no Blitzes, it was Pressure up the middle from the D-Line. Nice try though. Tuck/Strahan/Pierre/Umenyiora are not linebackers.

With well-timed and beautifully orchestrated blitzes, the Giants managed to do something no other team had done all season -- confuse the great Tom Brady, writes Seth Wickersham.

The Giants, who finished 14-6, won 11 games away from home on the way to claiming the Lombardi Trophy. They used wave after wave of blitzes to batter Brady all game, sacking him five times, twice more than he had been sacked in any previous game this season, and grinding the highest-scoring offense in N.F.L. history to a halt for most of the game.

"Brady had the best Total QBR this season (including playoffs) when facing a blitz -- 87.6. Protection and receivers getting open quickly has been a big part of that, as he was sacked on only 1.8 percent of his dropbacks when facing a blitz."

-Baltimore HAD Both Smiths/Jones and them. We couldn't bring 7-8 in the Box. Seattle has none of those weapons at WR

-Then Again we were worried about the WRs and Flacco loves throwing it Deep so the Middle of the field Opened up, Lynch/Russell ability to run the ball will keep Hightower/Collins roaming in the middle of the field and Luke Wilson is not Owen Daniels.

-You probably didn't watch Seattle vs GB or NE vs Baltimore games. Seattle gave a wounded Rodgers all day to throw the ball on Sunday, couldn't even get near him. Brady vs Baltimore was throwing the ball as quick as I've seen him throw the ball in along time, we're not a Deep throw team like in other years when we had Moss and them so having ,- seconds to throw the ball is not something that will affect out short passing game. I'm sure you know what happen to teams that Blitz Brady.... Ask the Lions.
don't be emo breh. Otherwise you make good points.

I just see those trends changing in the SB. :manny:

Dude you or any nerd who writes for the NY Times (I love the NY Times) do not know about football. If there is constant pressure with just 4 and 7 in coverage (man or zone) then it's hard to make the correct read with limited time. When a defense plays zone it takes receivers a little longer to get open between a zone.

:ohhh:

I heard today that defense wins championships
No faith in their offense, huh? :troll:

Prepare to play zone because Sherman won't be able keep up on the crossing routes. Seahawks strength is teams that play vertical. NE doesn't do that. 3rd rank rush defense has me like :patrice: but you guys aren't the Ravens.

I want the Hawks to win. But my head is telling me Pats win easy. Pat's defense is real and they have a good running game. If they shut down Lynch. The game won't even be close

Exactly. I don't think it'll be that close. Pats are going to take away Lynch and force RWilson to beat them with his arm.

Pats will start off by pounding with Blount and Gray. That'll open it up for Gronk, Wright, LaFell and Julian. nikkas have forgotten about Wright and Gray. They'll get reps in the Super Bowl.

By the time the 4th quarter rolls around, the combination of Blount and Gray will wear down the Seahawks defense.

At first glance Seahawks match up very well with the Pats.

-Pats run game can be exploited (Forsett ran for 120 yards in the divisional game), Marshawn is a PROBLEM

-They don't particularly cover TEs all that well (Luke Willson is comparable to Owen Daniels who had a very good game)

-Seahawks pass rush speed (Bennett/Avril/Irvin) gonna be a problem for Brady and that O line

27-20 Hawks brehs

All of which I have my doubts about. Especially run D. Wilfork was ineffective against the ravens.

Pat Chung in coverage :lolbron:

And then there's solder who has played better but looked terrible during most of the regular season.
