It's weird...I feel like our bench is one of the weak parts of our game.

That is completely opposite the last few years.

I didn't really feel like they were a unit AT ALL.

I don't think it'll last. The second unit had a different rotation each game whereas the starters stuck the same through all but one game (their worst game was when they switched up too). That starting unit is four returning players plus Jalen Brunson who's a natural fit with anybody. So their chemistry came easily.

With Hartenstein showing up new to the scheme, Rose needing to be reintegrated, and Cam/Deuce being fairly new to the unit as well; the second unit is a pretty new group. I think more time for Rose and switching out Cam/Deuce for Grimes or Fournier (who are much more familiar with the scheme) will bring back more cohesive play.

IQ/Deuce/Cam/Obi/Hart saw the lion's share of opportunity in this preseason.
Rose/IQ/Grimes/Obi/Hart is a LOT better. Rose/IQ/Fournier/Obi/Hart should also be a big improvement.

Offensively I see potential, his defensive impact might have been overstated imo.
It’s too early and he has to acclimate to a new defensive scheme and teammates. He is very foul prone and isn’t quite as long as Robinson though.

Offensively I don’t think he’ll get as many baskets rolling to the rim as last year. Thibs looks like he intents on using him as a shooter which is a new role for him. He has good shooting touch and mechanics but he has never shot them at high volume.

His passing looks amazing
