Everyone always brings up kojima's dev time of MGSV and ignore that he was developing the fox engine at the same time.

It's not kojima's fault konami set themselves in a position to where only metal gear and soccer games were profitable to them.

Death Stranding didn't take a decade though. None of his big games took more than five years aside from MGSV.

I'm tired of kojima being blamed for the failures of konami. The only time they've ever taken a long time to develop a game was mgs4 due to the ps3 architecture, and mgs5 due to building an entire game engine alongside it.

Konami shouldn't have been relying on kojima productions to keep the entire gaming division afloat. Metal gear 5, in an unfinished state, made triple its budget in a month.

The fact that they had to release Ground Zeroes just shows you how much Konami wanted to recuperate all the money spent on Fox Engine

Konami wanted their own version of UE4 or Frostbite, only to slash their overall game output by 90% and settle on making pachinko machines
