The trailer has nothing to do with the game apparently. They don't even have an engine yet.
I'm expecting a 2019 release date.
They letting him write and direct his own game.Someone needs to tell that man no...when it comes to cooky out of the box ideas like that. Let him run amok when it comes to gameplay, but leash him when it comes to weird, niche, indie film ideas.
If this place ever needed a Banner....

Hideo Kojima Shares More on Death Stranding at TGS 2016; Will Feature Online Elements, Open World, 4K/HDR Support
Originally revealed during this year’s E3 2016, the upcoming Death Stranding will be the first new project from Hideo Kojima after last year’s Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, with more information on the title having been shared by Kojima himself.
During today’s broadcast at Tokyo Game Show 2016, Hideo Kojima presented more information on Death Stranding and what to expect, with Kojima explaining that the title will be an “action, open-world” title and that the game will also feature online elements.
Specifically, Kojima explained that the “theme” of the game “is to connect,” where players will be “connected by a strand/ropelike element” while playing and will be connected to one another by different elements, though we’ll have to wait and see for more specific information on how that will be integrated into the game.
Kojima also shared that at this time, an engine for the title has been decided and development of the game will soon be under way, while also explaining that Death Stranding will also “plan to accommodate 4K and HDR,” most likely in support of the upcoming PS4 Pro console coming later this year.
Death Stranding is currently in development by Kojima Productions.
