It's still hilarious to me how folks here and elsewhere insist that black people must be a monolith united against everything non-black and any representation of black people as a diverse group of men and women with different beliefs, life styles and choices is a crime against humanity. Especially because these same folks will complain when ignorant racists generalize all black people because of the actions of one.

I thought the movie was okay

The main characters relationship was horrible but I thought everything else was decent enough

The creator behind this said the TV show will let him delve deeper into some things that he couldn't fit in the movie. I'll watch the pilot

DWP was definitely made by a Carlton but to say that about Dope is a dangerous frame of mind to have, hope you are a white trying to pass or something. Dope is actually the way a coming of age movie with a black lead should be done. Only aspect I didn't like was the extent of help he had from whites
