I bought mine from walmart in early last year when everyone was thinking 3D was going to take off The main thing is SHOP around!! Check online! Amazon, google shopping tab, ebay, CL (enter at your own risk), newegg, retailer sites, in-store on saturdays after 9....etc. You will find your tv for a decent price if you shop. Or like dude said, check black friday ads. But remember the main thing is hz and contrast ratio. I got a samsung 40 LCD @ 120000 : 1 or some shyt like that and 120' hz with auto motion plus. Only cost about 600 back then but now even the LED's are cheaper than that. I see that a lot of them have 60 hz though but I assume it's because it's LED already.
Auto Motion Plus, 120hz, etc are nice for sports and games....but imo they RUIN movies and traditional television.
That's what I'm saying. Just make sure it has the basics (which I mentioned and no lower) and your good to go. Leds can have 60hz and still look good....higher hz=better picture during motion esp. It helps during sporting events and gaming. On my tv, there is a "game mode" setting. Some games you (such as nba 2k, forza etc) b/c there isn't much "motion" occuring on the screen at the same time) can be played w/o using this mode. But if your playing fps's , you gotta switch it to game mode b/c there is a slight "lag" from your controller input, to what you see on screen. That's for MY tv though, not sure if other brands even have a game mode setting but I think most samsung's do.Aite thanks
Yeah im not really to hip into the info on tvs so im not really sure what all that hz shyt mean lol..
Word.. this is mostly gonna be for movies and traditional tv
