Precisely.

I've heard arguments that the US left Iraq too soon actually :leostare:

Stop this nonsense bullshyt.

We didn't leave too early. This is happening because we are supporting these groups due to interests in Syria. We keep supporting the fukking Saudis who pull the strings of these Sunni a$$holes.

That's why this is happening, not because we "left too soon".

In order to crush the insurgency, their will and resolve, we left long before that was possible. Now that isn't to say that we hadn't over stayed our welcome and as far as the American people were concerned, we were long over due for a withdrawal. But in order to accomplish the original goals, a lengthy occupation would have been needed.

Obviously that was neither good for troop moral, US citizen confidence or global relations.

Breh, can you stop trying to feed me this dikk Cheney/Neo-Con nonsense? Are you blatantly ignoring that we were arming, supplying, and helping these SAME groups in Libya and Syria. The SAME network. I lost friends in Fallujah. I was personally there. To come home and have my government advocate supporting the same people we fought is a disgrace. And now you're telling me the answer was for us to stay there longer? Come on man. Wake the fukk up a little bit. These people are funded by our major ally, which is supported and propped up by our government.

How about to accomplish the goal, our government decided to NOT SUPPORT THE SAME "ENEMY" THROUGHOUT THE REGION?This would be the equivalent of the United States funding the Nazis against the Soviet Union on the East while fighting against them on the West. This is counterintuitive to every known fukking strategy of warfare there is, arming and supplying the enemy while trying to defeat them, unless the objective is to keep the war going for as long as possible.

Obviously that was neither good for troop moral, US citizen confidence or global relations.

It would be really good for the contractors and weapons manufactures though.

I wasn't in Fallujah but I was in the country as well during the war.
