See, when I went to his link I was still signed in already and it only asked if I wanted to link the gamertag they automatically gave me to the email address since an email address from @live = microsoft already.
Are you saying once you got to xbox.com (japan version) it then asked you to start a microsoft account???

Got to that link and read through it, there were some people having problems in there too, maybe you will see the same problem you are having. I'm sure it's just a simple thing. One thing I saw people doing was it was defaulting to USA on xbox.com Region...you have to change that.

For those who have already purchased the game and can't get past 80%, here's how to finish your download and play the game:

when your download approaches 75% go here:
https://live.xbox.com/zh-CN/AccountMigration
migrate your account from CN to the USA (you can only do this once every 3 months, fyi)
your account will now be an american account and your xbox will be kicked off live. sign in again after accepting the us terms.
if your download isn't starting again, go to your download queue, and readd
just used this trick to finish my download and install 6:30pm est
sorry for those that missed out, but if you're still in download limbo, hope this works for you
