First two episodes were great. Gunn is definitely referencing key points from previous movies/timelines in this.

The Creature Commandos are version 3.0 of The Suicide Squad under Waller. They reference Project Starfish.

The Frankenstein montage took me out G.I. Robot is funny too...

They reference peacemaker too.

Lowkey I think they are going to make the rebooted DCU an extension of the universe that suicide squad/peacemaker are in. They might change the actors for the JLA but those films events will be cannon in the new universe.

Sort of interesting that Marvel has Fury and DC has Waller who is an evil version of Fury instead.

Viola Davis as Amanda Waller is perfect casting. Right up there with Stewart’s Xavier at least to me. I can’t wait for her show to drop. Hopefully they don’t do her like Sam Jackson’s Fury from Secret Invasion.

I read it will be seven episodes in total. I think it's supposed to play into the Superman movie somehow but I'd guess only around the periphery

Pilot didn’t do much for me, but the 2nd ep sold me better. I should be tired of these misfit team-ups, yet Gunn keeps finding a way of reeling me in with the character dynamics. It’s definitely his bread and butter.

Can already tell I’m bout to get hit in the feels with G.I. Robot’s backstory.

Knowing Gunn it's on purpose; the band that the music is from is a band based in Czech Republic where the fictional country of Polokistan is located.

I was more-so hoping for the tracks to immerse me better. Felt a little pulled out of the show instead. Not the end all, be all though.

I didn't like this that much, maybe because the characters aren't really exciting to me.
Also feels like Gunn just has a template of personalities that he sticks to characters with any reason or faithfulness to the source , I.E. the crazy one, the one who lacks self awareness, the anti-social female, etc.

All the crazy/obscure characters in comics are predominantly used in team formats.
