I must have misread. The original idea I thought they had was they were rebooting and creating a DC universe with a mixture of history from everything whether it's new, old, the animated series, movies, else-world etc.
But now it seems like it's just organized reissuing and their trying to turn the comics closer to the movies like Marvel.
