And how is that working out for its box office? Homecoming is on course to make less than ASM which was largely regarded as a failure. To just change multiple actors all of a sudden without writing it into the story/universe would not. only insult audiences but rob themselves of making cash. Why not milk this and make an event out of firing a couple actors?

Is Homecoming really on par to make less than ASM2? If so then yes that I would be disappointed if I were Sony.

Regardless I just don't believe you have to establish a 'multiverse' in order to reboot a franchise, as if the audience needs to be spoonfed that theres a new continuinity in place. The worst offender of this was the JJ Abrams Star Trek movie adding Leonard Nemoy, which needlessly tied it to the previous series.

Look at how they handicapped the X-Men franchise by handcuffing themselves to this pointless multiple timelines crap. The best thing for everyone would be to just cut loose and start fresh. If Homecoming achieved nothing else it laid the foundation for an entirely new series and wiped the slate clean. Now that Holland is firmly established the franchise can finally reach that next level.

All Marvel movies & tv shows take place in the comic multiverse anyway.

At least this shows DC is willing to expand and rework their already established universe. I at least appreciate the move.
Yeah but the sombre/serious tone wasn't the problem the problem was they made bad movies and tinkered with iconic characterisations unnecessarily. If ppl flock to their shyt now it just goes to show the masses are willing to overlook flaws as long as they can chuckle every so often.

Can't wait, with geof Johns in and Snyder out they have no excuses now. Time to course correct this shyt possibly with new actors in the lex, superman, batman and flash roles (cyborg is such a non entity who cares about him)
Ezra, Gal and Margot gonna be the only ones to survive the reboot. :wrist:
