I'd say that they were roughly around Cell's level of strength.

Toriyama wasn't the best with details sometimes it's best not to think about them. Trunks and Goten never had tails cause he straight up forgot.

To answer the question, they were stronger than semi perfect cell and slightly weaker than perfect cell. Which is why vegeta and trunks were getting that work.

And the funniest shyt is that it showed just how advanced Goku is when it comes to fighting technique. Same shyt that both Vegeta and Trunks thought was some hot shyt, took Goku 5 fukking seconds to realize that was wrong as hell.

Yea me too, just the most logically sense. Main reason Vegeta kept his rationale in ape form was due to being an elite I think, low level saiyans acted all rabid and shyt. Would be a waste of time to transform into an ape for a power up that's pretty obsolete to super saiyan power. That and it causes problems living with humans.
