Exiled Martian
Was young I couldn't do good, now I can't do Bad
I was just reading up on the Cube method whe I stumbled onto this video..... for those of you who know, Brandon Lilly is the founder of the CUBE method (Strength training program)... Apparantely this injury happened back in January?!..
Fuuuuuuck man, had to be off the charts painful.man wishing him a speedy recovery
Sucks because I've seen Lilly lift 750 RAW (in his other v idz) before so it wasn't like this was some obscene weight for him.
One thing to be cognizant of is that an injury like this can happen at any moment in powerlifting and we are taking risks every day. It can be over at any moment. Lilly loved to add a lot of volume to his regimen and that's the only thing I can think of that would have caused his knees to fail like that. Or maybe it's just like RBs in the NFL, eventually you will get hurt and when you do, it's just a matter of the severity. We celebrate guys who push their bodies to the limit, but there are no guarantees in powerlifting Be safe chasing that Strength brehs!
"As of right now without surgery I'd never walk again as I sheared my ACL, meniscus, patella, tore both quad tendons, and MCL in both knees and the knee cap in my left knee will be replaced. I go in for surgery in 10-15 minutes".
