To be fair, coastal Venezuela is very much Carribean, and it will sometimes be included. Not all Venezuelans sound the same.

The capital city Caracas is in the Caribbean part of Venezuela.. Almost all major venezuelan cities are located in the caribbean coast and are coastal cities.. Maracaibo, Barquisimeto, Valencia and Puerto la Cruz are all major cities and located in the caribbean. Also most of the population of that country lives in around the caribbean coastal area.. Yeah, its pretty much a caribbean country.

Unlike Colombia where most of the population lives in the andean region and another chunk in the pacific.
