All they had to do was draft Bobby Portis, I saw many celtic fans getting angry at ainge drafting another midget when all he had to do was pick that Portis guy who was exactly what they needed, athletic 6ft11 player. But ainge can't draft for shyt, watch the celtics blowing their nets pick this year by choosing another future role player lol.
He looked great in preseason but he hasn't gotten a chance so we don't know whether he'll be real good or not. He's only played like 3 games and in all these games he got in with like a minute left when the game was already decided.
A lot of the fans are upset cause he doesn't play and for all we know it could be unwarranted hype, but it's just mind-boggling that Lee, Jerebko, Zeller, etc. can be so underwhelming and here we have a 21 year old defensive big who they won't let play any real minutes.
Ainge hasn't knowingly made a good draft pick since 2010. Sullinger doesn't count cause he was a projected lottery pick that fell into his lap because of an injury.

he really cant draft indeed. ainge is a mediocre GM, he will fool fans by doing some robbery trades like getting thomas for almost free, or them pierce and KG trades that now got themselves few really good picks. But then he overpays for mediocre free agents with no big potential and he drafts like shyt.

Smart has no potential of being a cornerstone player, he will be that role player sixth man guy who hustles and plays defense.

I dont remember where I read exactly but marcus smart called out james young on being not mature enough for the league. It tells everything about this guy, maybe after travelling through russian and itallian basketball teams he will mature at the age of 25-28 while coming back to play some role player minutes in nba but right now this guys confidence and work ethic does not belong to the league.

Kelly Olynyk has turned into a far superior play for the Celtics than Lee at this point, especially with what Stevens is doing.
Just look at his per 36 minutes averages for this season compared to his previous ones. His per 36 averages have him scoring more points (17.8), creating more assists (2.9), and blocking more shots (1.1). His rebounds are the same, when he’s been given more consistent minutes, and he shoots around 46-47 percent from the field. But where Olynyk has shined the most this year is in his three-point shooting. As of February 2, Olynyk is the league’s tenth best shooter from beyond the arc, at a staggering 43.0 percent.
Him and Jerebko have been playing extremely well together too.
The team usually out-scores their opponents when on the floor together; their skills compliment each other very well. They help with court spacing when they play at the four and the five spots, creating more open shots. Plus, they both play surprisingly good defense together. Olynyk’s defense might be the most surprising improvement in his game this year.

It was so good when the season started, it made some believe that it was just an anomaly and would return to normal as the season progressed.
