I don't know what you are trying to say here but one doesn't need to see multiple flicks to know the general formula a studio would opt to use for a burgeoning franchise. An R rated (some say) movie about 8' the comedians' just wrecking stuff for the government isn't going to have a broad appeal. The packaging is that they are "bad guys" but it won't play out that way I don't give a fuk what the comics say these studios want to make money and will deviate. To think any different is just shortsighted.

so I said suicide squad takes place in space now? Looks like you either have poor reading or are just making shyt up. The only thing I said was we've seen the concept of odd balls supposedly bad being rounded up blah blah I have already explained it but that Is not the same as saying it's a copy.

Dante's peak came out after Twister if I am not mistaken, if one said it was the same concept reporter/volcanologist warning a town of sceptics of pending danger and said disaster hits and all hell breaks loose is that the same as saying that movie copied? because we all know a tornado is the same as a volcano right? Don't be stupid and stop arguing for the sake of it

what i was saying/asking was how do you know what they are going to do with the film?....you dont, you making assumptions based off nothing but shyt you making up....till the movie comes out, all we can go off is the comics, but since they doesnt go with what your theory, you ignoring them....

i never said you said they copied them....i just said they dont compare cause one is 'so called bad guys' as you put it (gotg), while the other is actually bad guys (ss)....and let me get this straight: even though you said we've seen this concept before in gotg and explained how so (like you just did again), since you didnt say ss is taking place in space, you werent making a comparison?..lol aight man...

...yea, i'm done with you and the other cat....yall can have it....

To me it sounds alot like escape from new York, you got the bad guys doing good in order to shave time off their sentences or are only cooperative because they have a bomb or poison somewhere in their body

That's what Amanda does in the comics to people. She plants bombs in their heads and pulls the trigger to show ahe doesn't give a damn about them. She forces them to work for her.

Because this thread is based on what David Ayer said quoted by the thread starter. Pay attention. My initial comment was this:
"But you do this story about struggle and isolation and people who have been sh*t on that suddenly get thrown this lifeline... that's not so bad... I like to think of this as the Comic Book Movie 2.0."

could apply to GotG. That's it.

:snoop: Guardians of the Galaxy and The Suicide Squad are nothing, nothing, NOTHING alike! Don't confuse people who are ANTI-HEROES (which are the people of GotG) with people who are CERTIFIED VILLAINS (which is clearly what The Suicide Squad are).

And make a super-stretched out reach of an apples & oranges comparison based off a quote that you misinterpreted. The people in GotG were inherently GOOD people in a situation that they're reluctant to be in, and eventually become heroes, on their OWN terms. The Suicide Squad are people who are inherently BAD individuals with the exception of Deadshot that are FORCED to perform suicide missions against their own will. They are not heroes. They don't give a fukk about saving people because it is the "right" thing to do. Just because Ayers' quote suggest each of them will have some character depth does not mean they are like anti-heroes. They are certified villains forced to conduct missions (which are in themselves immoral) against their will. Simple as that. Kill that GotG & SS comparison.

GOTG aren't bad guys, they don't kill innocent people unlike the SS. Marvel stans are funny though, they think every DC film is copying Marvel. If OMAC is in BvS then they'll say they copied Ultron, they think SS is copying GOTG, Red Hood comes out and they say they're copying Winter Solider. Never seen a group of people scared of competition :pachaha:
nah, they just expose themselves constantly as not fans of comics. Theyre dikk riding a movement, like drake stans in the booth. You cant reason with them at all.

All I know is that this looks way better than gotg.
:patrice:Casting choices and costumes looks iffy to me. With guardians it could rest on the luxury most ppl didn't even know what or who they were = lowered expectation. I am more familiar with the crew of SS

I was unfamiliar with both. But I like the tone of SS. Gotg I can watch once and be fine without ever seeing it again. This looks like a multiple viewing type movie. We shall see.

who the fuk is saying they are? The thing is its all smoke and mirrors, they say GOTG were anti-heroes but to my recollection their bad deeds were underplayed/barely seen while we got a full display of their heroics. SS are being called "bad guys" and I don't doubt that they are in comics and might be in another movie in the DCEU but in this particular flick a chunk of the team will be anti-heroes at worst (with one or 2 being truly evil) to believe otherwise is foolhardy
