And a chance in hell they booked a finish to a main event of Mania on the fly... especially DURING the show. If Vince changed his mind that weekend, I could believe that (dont even ask)... but with an hour to go?

cmon now, think about it if you and all of your family traveled there because you had been told Rome was gonna become WWE Champion at Wrestlemania..that close to the US home base for so many Samoans and then find out they changed the finish 30 mins before the match, you'd be upset as well.
Vince didn't tell Taker he was taking his L last year until the day of the show. and today's Vince ain't the Vince of old...you hear all the time how shows are being changed up until show time and in some case during the show.That shyt's a work...

That's probably why he did it during Rock's segment.
He told Rocky to go out there and waste as much time as he can, not because of concerns over the sunset... But because he needed time to tell Roman and GTFO of dodge before his cousin finishes his segment and comes back.
