I enjoyed it. Much like when Chris Rock started to talk about politics, I enjoy that type of comedy. Dave's stuff lately has a slow burn with a lot of commentary in it, but that just makes it real and human to me. This was kind of a slow burn, but the laugh out loud moments were hilarious, like the movie joke (which the crowd did not get/did not want to laugh at), the part where he mentioned toxic masculinity, the father joke at the end, beyond/impossible joke, and others. Dave uses jokes to make whatever points he's trying to make, instead of the reverse, which can be a turn off/not funny to some.

Just finished watching and I think everyone is pretty much on the same page with it. Dave is a great orator and in a sense he has transcended comedy. Watching this special was more like watching a speech than a stand up set but that’s where he is now. I chuckled some but overall just sat and listened.

This special wasn't funny.
It was mostly a candid discussion about race and inclusion and feelings (for better or worse) but it wasn't comedy.

In past specials, Dave wove larger racial and political themes into his comedy. This one felt like he was weaving comedy into his racial and political commentary.

I'm not saying it wasn't good. I thought what he had to say was interesting. Just that I was expecting something else.

What do you consider comedy from the last 5 years. They can't say shyt anymore.

You know going in what Dave is going to give you. This was entertaining. He said he's done with this phase. Can't wait to see what he's got going forward. 7.5/10

Man… here’s my honest review.

Dave has become everything I feared he would become: a lecturer without the comedy.

I smiled and chuckled at some parts but I had no real laugh out loud moments. It felt like a TeD Talk with anecdotal stories. He spent the last 30 mins on trans. I mean God damn, let it go already. Talk about overkill. It would’ve been fine if this was his first time addressing them but this is like the third special in a row.

Chappelle has become a real life Coli poster. The only time I hear about these trehs are on here. Outside of that, I rarely hear about them. Now Chappelle seems to have a weird fetish over them.

I really tried to enjoy this. If this was anyone but Chappelle, I would’ve switched off after 30 minutes. Please stop with this “he’s transcended comedy.” Wtf? Last time I checked a comedian is meant to be funny. Whether it’s one liners or story telling, the goal is to be funny.

You can be political, socially conscious, philosophical etc and still be funny. This special wasn’t it. Just ranting and ranting about gays and trans… AGAIN!

Sorry, Dave needs to go back to the drawing board. Too many specials in such a short amount of time has made him stale and predictable.

At least he said this will be his last special for a while and he’ll stop beating a dead horse. Hopefully he comes back inspired and back to funny Dave.

It was entertaining for sure. The basis of Dave’s comedy still contains its racial elements, but this LGTBQ movement is so radical regarding speech control, as a Teflon comedian, of course he’s going to address it as long as it’s a current topic.

“As soon as I think I got you white people on the ropes, you change the rules.”

“Oh yeah?”

“Yeah, muthafukka!”

“Well…I’m a girl now, and you must treat me as such. Call me a girl nikka”

Comedy is subjective but this man was rapid firing jokes that I think will go over a lot of folks heads. Like a rap album that deserves multiple listens to catch everything. I got James Baldwin vibes. I went in not expecting to like this but it was hilarious from start to finish.

Why does it bother you that a man has to get something off his chest?

Pretty sure if I go through your post history I can find a common theme of you being disgruntled about something and it affecting your life. He like anyone else is allowed to say things that are in his life. He is human.

He said in the special that certain things bothered him and how his image is perceived. Surely you as breh and as a man don't want to be perceived a certain way if you aren't characterized in a certain light that truly doesn't reflect who you are.
