I'm going to have to watch these again without context.

This would be like if Nas released Illmatic and IWW then retired and came back with a double album after 15 years.

I don't know if I'm over rating or under rating how good this is. We've missed Chapelle for so long or we more caught up in the hype and nostalgia? Or is he really the funniest man on the planet?

Some guys just have it.

Jordan, Ali , Young Tiger , Kobe, Etc. Dave falls under that line to me. Yeah some of his punchlines missed , but the ability to draw you in telling a story, the comedic timing and just the flow of his set , is second to none. Obviously, nostalgia clouts your mind , but theres no one funnier currently breathing, imo.

Surprised to see how many liked the second one better, I thought the first one was significantly better
In hindsight I like the 1st one better too, but the vibe was different. The 2nd one I thought he seemed more comfortable on the stage, and even when he got the cigarette, he seemed to be really loose and having fun, and it seemed like a goofier set. The second one reminded me more of a lot of the sillier bits he's done in old specials and from what I've seen of him live.

Not to say he didn't seem comfortable during the first one, because he did, and I think the first one is a classic and was packed with so much stuff. No filler. Touched on so many topics without seeming unfocused.

Both are great, but I give the edge to the first one for sure.

Neither were that funny, I was only feeling the Bill Cosby part :ld:
The crowd was pretty dead, it's kinda embarrassing how he has to fake a laugh once in a while just to tell people that that was the joke :francis:
