What was the reason datpiff shut down in the first place?
According to the Wiki
In April 2023, DatPiff announced that it was undergoing a revision, mainly as result of a major decline in the traffic the website was receiving, as well as copyright issues with many mixtapes on the website.

Are they eventually going to make the search work like a normal search?

i was able to find "Justin Timberlake - Dj Dew Presents Justin Timber (DatPiff.com)" faster on duckduckgo just using the keyword "dew". couldn't find it with google. i was also able to find the track "pusher love girl" using duckduckgo when google showed no results.

Admittedly I wasn’t super into the Mixtape scene. I listened to a few choice joints…the Dipset, 50 ones mainly

I didn’t appreciate DatPiff when it was popping. I’m bout to binge on a bunch of these old ass tapes brehs :wow:

I type in a certain artist and the top results are just compilation mixtapes and further down are a couple few official and unofficial tapes, and further down from that is more comps and random shyt.

Original DatPiff search you gone see almost all the official and unofficial tapes first. I had a fukin ridiculous library on there and I miss some of them playlists, chopped albums, mixtape songs with the original beat instead of a modified version due to umg being lil bytches, etc
oh that's because the entire archive is still uploading, they add 10k new tapes per day, the count right now is at 134,162. But no, the search functionality will not change.
