It's a get rich scheme regardless, not ONE single accusation till the first one. Every bytch/groupie that has had sex with him MIGHT try to get paid. It's kinda sad and this has nothing to do with him being innocent. I don't condone rape, unless It's the Patriots getting their ass took.

if that was true this would be a thing literally every athlete/celeb goes through, but it just seems to be the serial rapists who actually get dozens of rape accusations

Coupled with his tactics (drugging them leaves them unsure of what happened.... who wants to go through the accusal process if they're not even 100% sure what happened) and his stature (rich folks in this country play by a different set of rules), it's perfectly understandable that his victims never came forward. Looks like he counted on it.

I'm not "defending" anyone. FOH with that. Sharper is still a dumbass for putting himself in this situation.

If you engage in a one night stand with someone whether you're famous or not, there is a high chance of some fukkery happening. It's not worth it.

He's not defending him, he's just not automatically believing this went down like it's reported. The reason is because as he said, a lot of brothers have been falsely accused of rape before, so it leads people to think about things a little bit before they condone the accuser and demand his head.

Just because you question things doesn't mean you're out to get the victim, it just means you're using your damn head. Now if he was criticizing these women then you'd have a point, but he's merely being skeptical, which is a good thing.

Preliminary hearing in Darren Sharper rape case set for Sept. 16
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- A preliminary hearing has been set for Sept. 16 for former NFL All-Pro safety Darren Sharper on charges that he drugged and raped two women he met at a West Hollywood nightclub.

Arizona, which has charged Sharper in a similar case, wants to extradite him there for trial. He's also been investigated in Louisiana, Nevada and Florida. But in May authorities in Florida found insufficient evidence to pursue charges there.

He has pleaded not guilty in California, and he and his lawyers have denied the allegations in the other states.

Prosecutors said outside court the preliminary hearing will take about two weeks. They're seeking to show there is sufficient evidence to order Sharper to stand trial.

He is accused of giving women drugs and raping them while they were unconscious.

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -
A newly obtained subpoena sheds more light on the Darren Sharper rape investigation in New Orleans. It involves records from a Warehouse District hotel and mentions the former NFL player and one of his associates.

According to court records, the Orleans Parish District Attorney's Office has subpoenaed all guest history for Sharper at the Renaissance Hotel on Tchoupitoulas Street, including any room registration records from August 31, 2013.

The DA's office also asked for key card information and security video that shows Sharper or Brandon Licciardi. As FOX 8 first reported last month, According to a source, Licciardi, a sergeant with the St. Bernard Sheriff's Office, received a search warrant for his DNA.

A source also told FOX 8 that Licciardi introduced Sharper to one of the alleged victims on the night of the incident. Last month, Licciardi was reassigned to desk duty at the sheriff's office, but Sheriff Jimmy Pohlman would not comment further.

Sharper and another man, Erik Nunez, are accused of raping two women at Sharper's apartment, which is across the street from the Renaissance Hotel. But that allegedly happened in late September of 2013, so it's unclear how the Aug. 31 records play into the investigation.

We reached out to Licciardi attorney Pat Fanning for comment, but he hasn't responded. In the past, Fanning has told FOX 8 that Licciardi was only a witness and was fully cooperating in the investigation.

Sharper is under either under indictment or investigation in four states for rape allegations. He has been jailed in Los Angeles since February.
