2 Up 2 Down

The Punisher, brehs.
Just finished it. I'll say this, I was digging it and ready to put this season down as great. Then it lost me somewhere around episode 12. Idk if it was just that the big reveals didn't land for me or the fact that they decided to pull every movie hero trope out of the book in the finale. Some examples.
-Daredevil and Elecktra having that chat before the big battle
-The big bad guy stopping his henchmen so he can have a 1 on 1 with the hero
-Elecktra sacrificing herself for Daredevil. Then giving some speech before her last breath
-Punisher showing up at the last minute. I was actually waiting a while for him to show during that scene, but was left disappointed. You show me a scene with him looking at a mini gun. Then you show me a shot of a roof covered in ninjas. My expectations are the Punisher coming though and massacring 30 ninjas. Instead we get only like 4 dead ninjas and "See ya around red"
Edit: Oh and speaking of 30 ninjas. there had to be at least that many if not more. By the end of the fight, if felt like there were only 10. Did they run or some shyt.
I hate to sound nitpicky but the that whole fight scene left a bad taste in my mouth. Felt like they rushed the ending trying to tie up the loose ends.
What they got right though was the Punisher. He was easily the best thing about this season. I didn't care for the black cloud/ancient magic bull shyt story line, but every scene with Frank Castle was great. I'm really anticipating a Punisher series.
This makes Jessica Jones look like some CW trash.

[Was Daredevil really doing that stuff before Bats? I've never read any Daredevil comics.
Pretty much a guarantee that if a military guy is played by Clancy Brown then that military guy is up to shenanigans.Ain't that the same general from the flash?
The dude who plays Perd Hapley is an actual newscaster which made me when I found out:He's always an army guy just like how the Perd from Parks n Rec is always the black weather guy and this guy is always Hector
I still think this season would have benefited greatly from just focusing on The Punisher and saving the Elektra/Hand stuff for the following season.Liked the actress and thought she did everything she was asked to do well, but I think Elektra kind of hurt the show. Her intro was jarring and the stuff with the hand ended up with us being sold a bill of goods. Her tag team with DD didn't do wonders for his character at all, the fights with the hand/yakuza was by large squashes that lets be fair got as repetitive as the fights in s1.
If her role was reduced and we had more fisk in prison I think the overall reaction to the season would be different
Cage's villains are a bit ridiculous when taken at face value. All of them will need to be upgraded from the fukkery of the 1970s to be considered viable bad guys: http://www.thecoli.com/threads/the-...-luke-cage-thread.277932/page-3#post-14623672More of a teaser than anything.
Who's his arch?
What villain could serve as a credible threat to the unbreakable man?
As of now, Luke Cage has lost everything in his life. Wife, love, home, his job, dignity, and etc.
He's disillusioned and he doesn't want to play hero.
Yeah, Either scenario would have been better than the tale of 2 halves we gotI still think this season would have benefited greatly from just focusing on The Punisher and saving the Elektra/Hand stuff for the following season.
Lol if this guy ever showed up on the show
What do you think happens?
So far we have:
DD S1
JJ S1
DD S2
LC S1
JJ S2 and DD S3 are unknown at the moment. History would tell us DD S3 would come out next March and we get Iron Fist next September. Maybe JJ S2 in the middle of that?
At this rate we won't see The Defenders until 2020
Edit: Which is a great problem to have though, assuming the quality of these shows stay the course until then.
