Gallo is a dumbass, how is he a police commissioner but he's talking that openly. Also he's just seen an officer with the Punisher tat on his neck, he should have been on alert.

If the show wants to include politics and Trump references they need better writers that aspect is too clunky

Pete didn't even have to make an appearance. They could've named dropped him in a throwaway line. Or had those goon cops complain about him over Frank's stolen walkie. They act like that nikka don't exist.

Tbh, MCU Pete barely in NYC anyways:francis:

Fisk has his own personal army and is locking down the whole city yet other heroes are like :manny:

Fisk did make a Spider-Man reference in an earlier episode of the season.

According to Commissioner Gallo's actor, he knew he was finished at that point. There was no escaping Fisk.

Obviously, Gallo didn't know that he would get his head crushed like a watermelon though :francis:

No, we're not ignoring it. You're right, studio politics (and the super gritty nature of this show) means we are just not getting Spider-Man in this show. Period. You're right.

BUT, it's STILL a glaring plothole that NYC is basically a failed state and webhead is nowhere to be found.

HBO's Penguin had this same problem. Oz was able to start a civil war in the Falcone family that was getting people killed with bombs going off..yet we never saw the Bat, despite that being the type of shyt that would instantly grab his attention.
HBO's The Penguin is a slightly different issue. There is no rights issue (as WB/DC owns all of the rights to Batman).

However, WB/DC believe that Batman is only suitable for animation or the big screen (live-action film). Batman appearing in a live-action show would "cheapen Batman's brand".

You can tell they started off with 18 episodes and then split it in half for two seasons, because this finale felt like it lacked resolution. As if it wasn't supposed to be the season finale.

Also, Punisher getting captured was out of character.
