Dare I say, New Jack City is just as classic and great as Goodfellas

Might not be a better movie, but this was my Goodfellas and Godfather back in the day. To see a black man instill fear like he was the boogey man was crazy to see. With they way they had him treat the Sicilians/Mafia they put him on their same type level.

Both films are equally enjoyable and memorable IMO but that's about it.

Snipes is the only person who gives a good performance in New Jack City. Everybody else stinks (especially Ice-T).

Goodfellas is better written, better directed, better shot, better acted, in a whole different league when it comes to total quality.

Both are equally enjoyable though. Just in different ways.

I hate to keep using car analogies but I had just as much fun driving a mini cooper S as I did a Ferrari 438. Just in different ways.

I'd say New Jack to me is more classic for the simple fact that I can relate to it a little more never been around no mafia cacs so New Jack hit loser to home for me.

New Jack City was a cheesy, melodramatic live-action cartoon. And it is an enjoyable film but to call it a classic is just ridiculous and to compare it to Goodfellas is just retarded.
