Mike D'Antoni is a word-class dirtbag. The way he treated players in New York was disgusting.
Bringing Marbury back to training camp where he outclassed Duhon and other mediocre point guards. Having GM and D'Antoni himself tell Marbury he'll play and then not giving him even a minute. And then we know how that ended up. He pushed Duhon hard as fukk just to prove a point and then when he got a point guard who could dribble the ball he threw Duhon in the bushes and didn't even give him a minute (but Stephon couldn't get a minute with Duhon there).
Even though there wasn't much love for Marbury in New York and Knicks organization at that point, I recall Donnie Walsh implying it was a bytch move by D'Antoni after promising player minutes.
Benching Nate Robinson and then telling reporters that he might play in Neveruary. Having Nate come in in 4th quarter and OT and save his ass to then be benched again.
Knowing full well that Amare Stoudemire's knees are brittle as fukk but still riding him crazy as fukk. There would be 20 point blow outs but he would call a time out to bring Amare back in to stat pad.
He tried to get too slick in the end and get Carmelo traded for Deron Williams (or was it someone else can't recall right now) but that was the end of him in New York.
"They think it is always personal," D'Antoni said before Thursday night's game against the Bulls. "The only thing personal is that I don't know a coach yet that says, 'You know what? I don't like him so I'd rather lose.'
"I'd play Satan himself if I could win. I don't care. I have no morals, or scruples. I don't think a coach does because we're only judged if we win or lose. You win enough, you stay. You lose enough, you're gone. You can't debate whether a coach wants to win or lose. That's the only thing we have."
He's a dirtbag and I'll be happy when they tell him to kick rocks in LA.
