To be fair breh it was released in 31 theaters and made 90k. Hardly anyone saw it that way.

I think moreso academy members possibly look down on it for being a netflix movie. A lot of people don't want that release model to take off. Also less urgency since it's always on netflix. Leads to an an ill get around to it mindset

Pretty much. The academy sees Netflix as the camera phone and they are Kodak. There days of being a powerhouse are coming to an end.
