People shyt on Ainge but trading down with the number 1 pick and still getting Tatum is boss shyt. Jaylen, Smart and Rob Williams all good draft picks too. The KG and Ray Allen trades. Trading a broken IT for Kyrie motherfukking Irving... he put together a team of Kyrie, Smart, Brown, Tatum, Hayward, Horford... at the end of the day that team not getting it done ain't on him. Dude had a lot of hits. And anyone that still says he should've traded for AD is trolling at this point. He would've needed to give up one of Tatum or Brown as well as Smart and a few other pieces/picks for a one year rental of a guy that is always in street clothes :francis:

This.

C's weren't shyt since the Bird days in the 80's and Ainge took over and changed the losing culture. Assembled a team that won a championship, competed for others and made the franchise relevant again. Left the franchise with the best young duo in the L. Also assembled that Kyrie team that should have gone further had Stevens been a better leader of men. Ainge has fukkups, but dude did a good job overall.

And it’s going to fail and they going to be stuck with her

I think a coach like Kim mulkey could coach men and be successful though
I mean technically 29 coaches “fail” every season
What’s the big deal with y’all and women’s coaches :mjlol: shyt could work and will eventually

That c’s team lost Gordon Hayward first minute of the season. It was cursed after that Isiah Thomas trade. But objectively, Ainge didn’t do a bad job. He did pump fake a lot

They both did excellent at their jobs, at trying to make it work. Brad Stevens instilled a winning atmosphere when it was all coaching, and they were overachieving. The problem with this team is that they needed a savvy vet in that locker room, preferably that won before, just for that elder statesmen.

He did lose the team, but at some point every coach does. But right now Tatum needs a vet PG to reel him in at times. Conley, Lowry, Rondo or even George Hill. That's what it will take for them to get over the hump.

Stevens is still a good coach :manny:

The real issue is how the Celtics roster was constructed post-IT.

Getting Kyrie and Hayward made expectations too high since they porked over isaiah Thomas for them.

Danny Ainge basically made every player trade bait and kept on teasing with trades, like Anthony Davis and Kawhi Leonard.

This definitely hurt the morale of the team -
The players can't buy into the coach and team when ALL of them (even their best players like Tatum and Brown). Constantly at risk of being traded and being treated expendably like IT.

Role players can't buy in. Stars can't buy in. There's no clear vision.

Kara is fantastic. I miss her calling games for the Wizards on NBC Sports Washington.

I don't think she's leaving Duke though as she just got there.
For a chance to be the first woman head coach in the NBA and essentially of major pro sports in this country?? Yeah, she would absolutely leave Duke tomorrow if she essentially felt she was guaranteed that job.
