I think he realizes that the reaction to the image of Muhammed is merely a symptom of a greater sickness and that the Issues regarding Islam are bigger than that. They need to reestablish the importantance of education and re-examine the role of women in the religion to adhere to 21st century standards which would benefit them politically and culturally.
