the ether
I get what he's saying. White actors get to be seen as individuals, he's tired of being treated like he's not an individual but some public representative of "the black actor." Most of y'all who have been treated like "the black guy" at work instead of being your own person can relate to that shyt. Imagine how out of line your boss would be if every time he fielded a question from you it was on some, "Jason, as a Black man how do you feel about this product line?" as if your only use was your representation of the black race and not your own skill set?

He didn't say black issues don't matter or he ain't gonna be talking about them. Right on the first page y'all see he's had to stare discrimination in the face and took it right back at them. But he's saying he ain't gonna let who he is as an individual be defined by others like that.

Doesn't mean everyone has to make the same choice, but it's his choice to make.

This the nikka they let be the main in Get Out :mjlol:

:why:

What, they should have subjected him to a wokeness purity test before he tried out for the role? And who gets to administer that test? And who would pass?:gucci:

People need to understand that some of us don't like broadcasting our struggles to the world.

He gave a response that closed down the conversation. I get the impression that he was speaking to a white publication and didn't want to feed into their saviors complex.

And Widows.

Lmao everything he's saying is being told true here. People forget him if it isn't some race role as if he hasn't been putting in quality work on all ends of the spectrum for some time.
Exactly

Imagine wanting your race to be the thing people know about you, before your actual talent. Why would anyone want that

Dude is taking ADOS roles about race, let he don't wanna talk about race. This chick was on the money in this video :ehh:

No she wasn't, this woman is a liar she said Daniel said "he isn't black" he never once said that. this chick has never left USA yet has all these opinions on people from.across the world

This woman in a car with cloth seats talking nonsense

All he said is he doesn't want his race to be at the forefront, and why would he?
