This is a classic example of once a white artist becomes accepted by the hip hop community and/or gets a hood pass, they feel like they can speak on all black culture music wise.

Bieber doesn't even know about Prince or his legacy or his contributions. He wishes he could have a career half as long as Prince.

This was exactly my point. However I'll take it one further and say nearly every genre, especially, especially the main heavy-hitters: pop/r&b/hip-hop/rock were influenced by Prince. We wouldn't have the music we have today without him. Just look at how much dude has been sampled. If there were no Prince, there wouldn't be these songs:
