That's how you perceive not reality. If what you saying is true give some examples, you're projecting your own insecurities of being 5'9 and darker shades.
Spudd Webb and Muggsy Bogues was light skin short, I don't get what you're taking about.
You live you in a fantasy world, you can't places who aren't light but have nuances to their demeanor that makes them safe, but then say steph's skin color makes him safe.
Give on example in reality?
Steph got fined just like every other player who threw their mouthpiece in the crowd, only a big deal was never made of it, seems like Jamelle hill was right for once and I thought she was on bullshyt.
What insecurities? I said I was a shade darker than Steph, not "darker shades". That's why I brought up my physical appearance, I'm light skinned myself so I'm not someone you can say is insecure about light skinned brehs being more succesful/perceived as safe.
Spud Webb and Mugsy Bogues weren't throwing mouthpieces in the Finals, going through a season with just as much showboating/celebration/arrogance on the court as anyone else and not getting called on it like athletes such a Cam or Bron. And they were never superstars so its disingenuous to even compare them to a unanimous MVP who gets an exponentially greater amount of attention. Really comparing athletes from past eras isn't as fair cause America wasn't so sensitive and think-piece driven as today. But I'll list people you listed.
In your examples you listed;
Kanye-one of the most polarizing entertainers in recent memory who hasn't been stable since his mama died. He's been hated and loved by white America. We "lost" him so to speak a while ago. Nothing like the quiet Steph.
Jordan-big black "alpha male" and athletic freak? Yes. But you called him an Uncle Tom yourself so we can obviously see why white folks would look past his skin tone.
Barkley-light skinned yes but much physically imposing and outspoken/polarizing than Steph. I wouldn't call him "safe".
Kobe-definitely went through his polarizing stage with the rape case but people got over it after 2 scoring titles and 2 additional rings later.
Jameis-way more off-court drama than Steph, and I don't get this sentiment that white folks "love him" suddenly, maybe ROY quieted the haters for a little bit. I don't know if his on field demeanor is more reserved or fiery so I can't say if it lends to his perception of him.
Nowitzki-you named him to say brothers will pick on light skinned brothers/public figures for looking weak but give a white man a pass, or we weren't "threatened" by Dirk being MVP. First off, Dirk never had a legion of haters such as the LeBron and Cam Newtons of the world that we're comparing Steph to. All 3 of them are good dudes who have their own showmanship/in game celebrations, 2 get critiqued for it, 1 doesn't. Dirk was much more neutral and wasn't getting compared to others like that. His MVP wasn't a "threat" because people still felt like there were better individual players but we all know MVP award = #1 option on team with best record. And we saw him get bounced early.
Nobody has had the combination of being small, being light, and being the humble, Christian family man off the court while showing off on the court as much as anybody. All while being an MVP who gets a pass for those things while former MVPs (Bron) and cross-sport MVP (Cam) gets media/(white) America hate for the same thing. They usually have one or two of the three. I'm not placing his perception ALL on complexion. We can also say skillset plays a part in that.
And Steph getting fined just like anyone else is the league's accord, doesn't say anything about how fans perceive him. Have we made a big deal of it? Yeah, cause he lost his cool and it was shocking. But an outrage? There is none and I can bet if it was another player there would have been.
And Jemele probably has a finger on the pulse of black fans and us seeing the pereception of Steph vs Bron and Cam...shyt she probably has a Coli account
but maybe this mouthpiece/wife tweeting about the refs will be media's moment to turn on Steph and treat his celebrations, emotional flare-ups, and shortcomings the same way they have Bron and Cam. But that'll have to wait till next season to be evident or not.
