I find that SAS clap back was right on point. Le Batard ain’t no bastion of journalistic integrity who shirked at debate and entertainment. That muthafukka did Highly Questionable for HOW many years?!?!

fukk him and his mama

Highly questionable was like fun tho. :heh: Dude has his fukking dad on that show with him. It's nothing like the shyt SAS and Skip do

Above the fray.
Audience gravitates towards what they gravitated to. There was a more serious sports discussion show called Sports Reporters, that was hosted by the late John Saunders.

Aired Sunday mornings because the general ESPN audience was not interested. Used to watch it every week after working out. Kept me aware of what was happening in sports during the week.

It’s also hypocritical of Dan to blame SAS considering that his boss is the same exact person who gave SAS and those other talent the platform to turn TV into what it is now.

Skipper has played a major part in what ESPN now yet doesn’t get any criticism for it.

He still engaged in Entertainment and debate. Doesn’t matter if it was “fun” or not. SAS and Skip had “fun” numerous times laughing at each other’s opinions and SAS and Perkins do the same shyt.

Its barbershop talk put on television, thats ALL it is. And Stephen A Smith wasn’t even the first one to utilize the sports debate platform ON ESPN

Le Batard is either jealous of SAS cracking the code and maximizing its potential to become a star OR he’s a hypocrite.

Either way fukk him and his senile ass dad. SI! SI!!!

Even SAS has had to tell Mad Dog and even Molly live on air that it’s just entertainment and not to take things too serious.

Dan just wants to have his cake and eat it too. He hates serious talk around sports (that doesn't involves a societal issue) and made an incredibly profitable radio career out of making fun of it. But he has always scowled at people making a profitable career out of making serious sports talk into pro wrestling fukkery :manny:

If you think that's the issue I don't think you understand what Lebatard is referring to when he says "what they did to TV"

I don't think it's serious talk he despises because he has no issues with Mina Kimes, Bomani, Foxworth etc. I think you're missing the point here. Plus there's nothing serious about those conversations it's the fox news of sports

The Jerry Springer effect. They realized nobody cares about the setup get right to the right. Cold Pizza wasn't a debate show at first just like Springer was a traditional talk show in the vein of Sally Jesse Raphael. But then they realized that people come for the scrap. Fukk everything else

Since as long as I've been listening to Dan (09'-10') he's always HATED debates, he even said so himself on the radio more than once. What Dan likes is expert people explaining shyt or giving a take that' he either is impressed because it's smart or he agrees with and is being given someone he values as smart (Mina, Bo, Pablo, Amechi, etc.).

Debate tv is pro wrestling. Just people talking bullshyt trying their best to make the audience believe they are being real...and making a profit out of it. And Dan hates that shyt because it goes the opposite way of what he does.
