Real talk though I hope they can sort this out. Reparations is getting a lot of attention in this election thanks to the efforts of the movement. Regardless of what you think about Tariq, Tone, Yvette, etc they need to put ego aside and look at the bigger picture.
This.
I wish this could of been taken care of through DMs behind the scenes, there's no need to put this type of drama out on social media for the world to see. I hate seeing black people who exercise a common goal at each others throats because of some miscommunications on social media.
And to be honest, alot of this is on Tariq. As much as I've supported him in the past, his actions at times shows he's really not ready for prime time and doesn't know when to keep it "on code" and professional. Yvette and Tone are trying to conduct themselves in a manner that will be more reciprocated by political affiliates and actual policy makers. Tariq is just trying to get donations and sell merchandise. And yo, I';m not a fan of his baiting of Africans and Carribbeans, west indians.
Like 2/3 years ago, I was all about what Tariq was doing, trying to expose and dismantle the system of global white supremacy. Exposing corrupt cops and racist politicians. Exposing white supremacists in the video gaming world, exposing racist companies, he really was putting the heat to they asses. Now, he's going at Black immigrants...why? Like there are many of us Non-ADOS and Black immigrants and first gens that completely support ADOS and Black Americans...why you gonna alienate allies like that. It's almost as if indirectly he's doing their work now by trying to pit us against each other and they can breathe, easy, I can't fukk with that.
And lets be honest, its TARIQ who's really been fanning the flames of division between ADOS and non-ADOS...now he's trying to divide FBA/ADOS and for what? Tone and Yvette are civil debaters, academics, and researchers...Tariq is not in the same league as them, and everybody knows it. I followed Tone and Yvette on twitter, they have never said anything as directly divisive against non-ADOS as Tariq has.
It's sad, put aside the egos and look at the bigger picture...and this is also why Tariq will have trouble breaking through that fourth wall where he could be on another level garnering respectability points. He seems willing to work with people, until they disagree with them, then he doubles down on his BS, and even when he's proving wrong, refuses to even concede and admit a fault. It's not good and it will backfire.
