There were times during a game where we would play free. And it didn’t matter what we did. We’d end up coming back, and Phil would be like, “What’s that?” I remember one time we beat Boston and he told Hornacek he didn’t like the way we finished that game. We ended up winning the game. Melo got kicked out the game or something like that, something crazy, but Phil didn’t like the way we finished that game. It’s like, “Damn, in the league you’re happy to get a win.”

Most coaches come in and they’re like, “That was ugly, but bring it in! Enjoy your night. Nothing crazy tonight.” You know what I mean? Enjoy it because it’s hard to even get one win in this league. I’ve talked to Kobe [Bryant] about the triangle — you saw it with the Bulls and [Michael Jordan], you can do it and it works — but we were a new team with new players and a new coach, and because of Melo and the way he played, we needed to do something now, and you need some time with that offense.
This summed up the excerpt for me. Not really a shot at Melo, but more about the system not fitting the way he played and Phil's unwillingness to change.

Rose played terrible defense and even decided not to show up to work for a few days unannounced. He can't shytbon anyone on the Knicks with him.
Yup rose did sure decide not to show up a few times. He ain’t even have to mention Melo on this he could’ve just talked shyt about phil. Melo getting it from all angles right now:francis:

OP post the parts where he shytted on Melo. He shytted on Phil for being too old fashioned and not changing to fit what’s best for the team :dahell: Are you talking about OP?

I know the Coli dikk rides Rose like crazy but he really sounds like a quitter here. He left the Knicks in the middle of the season without saying anything because it was too tough? :camby:
Nah I see it more like he left cuz he left one shytty situation for a worse one. Hard to perform for a boss and company that clearly doesn’t give a shyt about their workforce and is setting you up to fail.

Funny thing is basketball fans at the time were saying the same thing—that the triangle didn’t fit the personnel, that Hornacek was a lame duck coach, that Phil needed to stop fukking with the team, that Rose was balling out and why didn’t he get more plays run for him. That year was a shyt show and anybody watching the Knicks could see that the players were not on the same page with what the front office wanted and Hornacek had no control.

That excuses what is essentially a no call no show from an actual salaried job you have a contract for?? No. Derrick Rose was acting like a ho ass teenager working for Wal Mart or some shyt.

It’s clear DRose was going through some shyt at the time. Yeah, maybe it all got to him. Should he have communicated with his employer? Of course. But I can understand why he wanted the break.

He clearly shyts on melo. I dont know what more people need to see. Melo was selfish and all about himself. Plus the triangle was supposed yo emphasize hos game, and he rejected it
