The bold was exactly Pac's point, Shareef was fake and muted, he was a charicature...you even said "Message!"...the whole Preach/Message shyt was a crack on Shareef in Menace. Pac was trying to tell them a muslim (like Shareef) wouldn't be kickin it with them nikkas like that, preaching and nagging and shyt. He wanted to make that character real.

And I said Shareef could have been the most important...not entertaining or memorable. I mean Dough Boy to me is the best part about Boyz but not because he got busy. Dough giving up on life and walking off screen burned itself into my head. The defeat, I've seen that defeat in person. And then he doesn't even get to die on screen, no dramatic, glorified exit, just another headline.



Different characters but I feel like Shareef's character should have been the Dough Boy of Menace who was kind of the natural voice of reason in that environment.

There was already enough people in the movie trying to tell Caine and Odogg to chill out....Shareef was pointless since you basically couldve just had Ronnie get killed in his place since he was supposed to be an example of bad things happening to good people in the hood

I cant imagine a scenario where Shareef could be inportant at all in the movie....UNLESS he was entertaining like Doughboy was....i will say even with Pac being a better actor than the guy who played Shareef,MAYBE he couldve been so good he was able to bring some emotional depth to the character to make u give a damn....and thats even with the script going unchanged...a little mire authenticity,lil more emotion,lil more leader ship and charisma wouldve done Sharif some good.

If Pac played him even the scene where he says hes not leaving Harold feels different
